Framed, Picasso 'Royan' catalogue print, c1940's

A unique and exciting opportunity to own the next best thing to a Picasso original. This abstract, female portrait was been reproduced from the original artwork and is published by Cahiers d’Art for its "Carnets de Royan" catalogue (limited to a print run of 1200 copies). The catalogue reproduced works made by Picasso in Royan from 30/05/1940 to 22/08/1940. Picasso fled Paris in September 1939 during the war and settled in Royan. From the beginning of 1940, he rented a workshop on the 3rd floor of the villa "Les Voiliers" which dominated the port. The original notebook belongs to this period of work.
